(2)助動詞
動詞は単独で使われるばかりではなく、助動詞を一緒に用いることによって微妙な意味を付け加えることができます。その場合、助動詞は必ず動詞の前に置きます。
また、次のような点に注意しましょう。
1）助動詞はbe動詞、一般動詞のどちらにも付きますが、その時の動詞は原形を用います。
例)You are tired./You may be tired.
He helps his mother./He must help his mother.

2)do(does,did)と一緒には用いません。
例)誤 Does Bob can swim ?
誤 Bob doesn't can swim.
