歴史と文化が香るまち

In Hobara，historical artifacts can be seen in and around town．They are proof that the area was populated from ancient times．From the 12th century two castles were built．Samurais from the Date and Uesugi clans lived there．

In the 18th century the town prospered with the production of silk．

Hobara's culture is also rich with famous scholars and artists leaving behind many works of art including Chinese poetry and paintings．
